Starting his 35-year career in Banking at İktisat Bankası in 1985, Dr. Erelçin worked at Treasury, Investment Banking and Asset Management departments of Garanti Bankası, Interbank and Finansbank, consecutively. After acting as Demir Yatırım General Manager for five years, Dr. Erelçin was appointed to the Executive Committee of HSBC Turkey in charge of its Brokerage and Asset Management subsidiaries. Later on, he set up and managed the Turkish desk of Principal Investments, the global private equity arm of HSBC. During this period, Dr. Erelçin represented HSBC at the boards of its portfolio companies, Havas and TGS.

Currently, Dr. Erelçin lectures Finance courses at the Graduate Business Schools of Koç and Özyeğin Universities and sits at the boards of Darussafaka Society and Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik as well as serving at the investment committee of Lycian Capital Partners.

After getting his B.A in Business Administration from University of Istanbul, Dr. Erelçin received his M.Sc. in Accounting & Finance from LSE and obtained his Ph.D. in Business & Economics from Lehigh University. He is a graduate of Robert College.
